What we collect, and what we will never do with it.

Action Communautaire des Ouanaminthais respects the people who support it. This policy explains in plain language what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us and a person will answer.

What we collect

When you become a member, make a donation, buy a gala ticket, subscribe to our newsletter or send us a message, we collect the details you give us. That normally means your name, email address, and where relevant your phone number and mailing address. We keep a record of your contributions so we can issue receipts and report to our members.

Payment information

ACO does not store your card number. All card payments are processed by our secure third party payment provider, which handles the transaction and holds the payment details under its own security standards. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the amount and your name and email.

Why we collect it

We use your information to process contributions, issue receipts, confirm event reservations, send program updates you asked for, and meet our reporting obligations as a registered nonprofit in the United States and Haiti. That is the full list.

What we will never do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not share your email with other organizations. We do not send you messages you did not ask for. Every newsletter we send has a one click way to stop receiving them.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small amount of privacy respecting analytics to understand which pages people find useful and where the donation process is getting stuck. This tells us about page visits in aggregate. It does not identify you personally. Your browser language preference is stored locally on your own device so the site remembers whether you read in English, French or Kreyol.

How long we keep it

We keep donation and membership records for as long as required for financial reporting and tax purposes. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete any information that we are not legally required to retain.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Send the request to the address below and we will act on it.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated to members directly.
